Seeing each other again

Had a good chat at the playground?

The children have found a game and you’ve found someone easy to talk to. Then a shoe goes missing, someone needs a snack and suddenly it’s time to leave. If you’d like to meet again, a small, direct suggestion can help you keep in touch. You don’t have to turn the first conversation into a big arrangement.

Ask when they usually come

Try something tied to the moment: “Are you often here after pickup?” You might discover that you both pass the playground on similar days. If the conversation feels welcome, add “It would be lovely to see you here again.” Leave room for a short answer or a polite no. A friendly conversation can be worthwhile on its own; nobody owes their contact details because the children happened to play together.

Exchange details before you leave

If you both want to stay in touch, ask which way suits them. You could exchange numbers, send a personal Friendground invitation or show your QR code while you’re together. Explain that you’d like to see each other’s playground plans. After accepting the invitation, you become friends in the app and can see each other’s shared updates. Only invite someone you’re comfortable sharing your place and approximate time with.

Follow up with a specific suggestion

For example: you met on Tuesday and might return after Thursday pickup. You could say, “We’re thinking of coming here again on Thursday around half past three. Would that suit you?” If you’re connected in Friendground, share the visit when you know your plan, so they can decide whether to join. If Thursday doesn’t fit, suggest another opportunity when one comes up. A reply isn’t a promise that the whole afternoon will go to plan.

Find small chances to see friends again

Let your circle grow at your pace

Friendground helps you keep up with people you’ve already met; it doesn’t introduce you to strangers or show a public list of nearby parents. If you’re new to the area, a local playgroup or regular visits to the same playground may give you a chance to talk to people first. When you do want to connect, start with one person. You can remove a connection or block someone if you no longer want to share with them.

There's always more to catch up on

Bring Friendground along next time you head to the playground, and invite the friends you and the kids would love to see there.
