What is Friendground for?

Friendground helps you find a chance to see friends at the playground. You share where you're heading, or look at the plans your friends have shared. The children can play together while you have someone familiar to talk to.

Can I meet new parents through the app?

It's for people you already know, perhaps from the playground, nursery, school or your neighbourhood. You invite each other rather than being matched with strangers.

Does Friendground track my child?

No. You share your own location. A child’s name only appears if you choose to add it to that update.

Do I have to add my children’s names?

No. You can share without any details about your children, or just say that a child is with you.

Who can see my update?

People you’re friends with in Friendground. Your updates aren’t shown publicly or to friends of friends.

Do I need to allow background location?

No, you can choose and share a playground manually. If automatic playground detection is available, background location is only needed when you choose to use that feature. You can turn detection off for individual playgrounds or altogether.

When does my update end?

Your update ends automatically. You can end it earlier if you leave. Text replies and quick responses are deleted 12 hours after it ends.

Do friends have to commit in advance?

There's no need to commit to someone else's plan. Share where you're going and let friends decide whether it works for them. If your own plans change, you can update or end your status.

How can I get Friendground?

Get Friendground from the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android. Then share where you’re heading and invite friends along.

There's always more to catch up on

Bring Friendground along next time you head to the playground, and invite the friends you and the kids would love to see there.
